Class 9

Welcome to Class 9!

Hello, I'm Mrs Pollard and I am the class teacher. On Wednesdays, Mr Richards teaches you in the morning and then Mrs Maycock spends Wednesday afternoon with you. We also have Miss Moss supporting us some of the week.

In Summer 1, our English unit is based around Sci Fi, where we will end with writing our own Sci Fi themed story. We will also create a Sci Fi magazine page. In Maths, we will be learning about decimals and percentages, followed by properties of shape. Our focus in History is The Maya and Christian beliefs in RE. In Science, we will be doing some investigating around our body - in particular the circulatory system. So get practising finding that pulse!

We also have our Year 5 Sponsored hike on the final week & Young Voices Concert for our choir! A busy half term!

Learning at Home

Ensure you develop your learning further at home:

* Read daily and swap your book in our library when you've finished.

* Go on Mathshed and/or Timestable Rockstars to keep your number bonds, calculation and times table skills sharp.

* Learn your spellings looking at the spelling rules/patterns and exceptions.

* Complete your half termly creative topic homework - see file below.

PE

PE Day is Monday. We will be holding our sessions back at school now, but please still bring a water bottle as we will hopefully be getting warmer weather. On these days, please come fully dressed for P.E. (this includes a school jumper if you haven't purchased a school hoody). We will be doing PE in all weathers so please come prepared.
