Class 11

Welcome to Class 11 for Year 6 pupils.

I'm Mr. Rainey and I am the class teacher.  I teach in class everyday, alongside Mrs White and Mrs Birtwistle.  Mrs. North also works with some Year 6s in the afternoons.

I hope you enjoy your time in our class during a very important final year at primary school.

The Year 6 SAT tests are on Monday 9th May to Thursday 12th May 2022 in the mornings.  These will test, spelling, punctuation and grammar; reading and maths (Both arithmetic and Reasoning).  See Dojo for updates on how you can help your child with these tests.

This half term, we are looking at imptroving our writing and getting ready for our SPAG and Reading tests in English.  We are looking at revising all topic areas in maths, The Mayans in History and Christian beliefs in R.E. We are also getting Year 6 ready for their SAT Tests in May and ready for high school and a life with more freedom and responsibilities with our week at Borwick Hall from Mon 16th May to Fri 20th May. We also have the Young Voices Concert for our choir! A busy half term!

Ensure you develop your learning further at home:

* Read daily and swap your book in our library when you've finished.

*Go on Mathshed and/or Timestable Rockstars to keep your number bonds, calculation and timestable skills sharp.

*Learn your spellings for weekly tests, looking at the spelling rules/patterns and exceptions.

*Complete your half termly creative topic homework - see sheet below.
