In English this half term, we are looking at Classic Poetry, with a focus on the poem 'The Owl and the Pussycat’. We will also be looking at Persuasive Writing towards the end of the term and creating our own persuasive advert to our 'zoo'. In Maths, we are looking at measure, addition and subtraction, fractions, geometry and time. In Geography we are learning about Africa and in Art we are practicing lots of different skills. We are creating animated books and composing music in Computing, learning about Judaism and Christianity in RE and finding out all about animals, including humans in Science.


Learning at home

Ensure you develop your learning further at home:

* Read daily and hand in your book to be changed when finished. 

*Go on Numbots and/or Times Tables Rockstars to keep your maths skills sharp.

*Learn your spellings looking at the spelling rules.


Phonics Screening Check

The Year One Phonics Screening Check will take place between Monday 6 June to Friday 10 June. 

The Phonics Screening Test (Year 1) is an informal test each child in England takes. The test allows teachers and parents to see how a child is progressing in phonics
