    Autumn Term 2

Hello and welcome to the Class 6 page. Most of the information you require about Class 6 can be found here. There will also be regular updates on Class Dojo. If you have any questions or would like to know more, please just ask!

This half-term, our topic is Food and Farming, and we’re kicking things off with a special Farming Day! Here’s an overview of what we’ll be exploring across all our subjects:

English – We’ll be reading The Cloud Tea Monkeys by Mal Peet and Elspeth Graham. Children will focus on writing a character description and creating a non-chronological report based on the story.

Maths – We will be learning about Multiplication and Division, Time, and 3D Shapes, building our skills with problem-solving and reasoning.

Science – Our focus is Animals, including Humans. We’ll be learning about how living things grow, stay healthy, and interact with their environments.

Geography – We’ll explore Food and Farming, discovering where our food comes from and how farms work.

RE – In Islam, we’ll investigate why the Prophet Muhammad is an example for Muslims, exploring his qualities and teachings.

PE – Year 3 and 4 will work on Fundamentals, Handball, Dance, and Fitness, developing coordination, teamwork, and stamina.

PSHE – We’ll focus on Valuing Difference, including discussions about online bullying and how to treat others with respect.

DT (Design & Technology) – Our unit is Mechanical Systems, where we’ll design and make pneumatic toys.

Music – Children will use their voices and learn to perform Christmas songs, building confidence in singing and performance.

Computing – We’ll explore Branching Databases, learning how to organise and classify information efficiently.

French – Our topic is All Around Town, learning vocabulary and phrases to describe places and navigate around a town.

We’re looking forward to a half-term full of exciting, hands-on learning!
