Welcome to Class 9 and the Upper Juniors!
We have an exciting half-term ahead of us! We are studying World War Two (Evacuation) in History, answering the enquiry question 'Should children have been evacuated during World War Two?'. In English, we will be reading stories set in the time period of WW2 - 'Friend or Foe' by Micheal Morpurgo and 'Rose Blanche' by Roberto Innocenti. Using these stories, we will be writing a setting description and a memoir/diary. In maths, we will be focusing on Place Value, Addition and Subtraction, Statistics, Geometry - Angles and Geometry and Measures. In Science, we will be learning about Electricity, studying Christianity (God) in RE, talking about our families in French and learning about digital media in our Art lessons. Our PE this half term is fitness and football.
The first week will be a little different as we will be focussing on our school value of 'Respect' and having our UKS2 World War 2 Evacuee Day on Friday 5th September. Dressing as an evacuee is optional but encouraged!
