Spring Term 2

This half-term, our topic is Rainforests. Here is an overview of what we’ll be exploring across all our subjects:

English – We are reading, 'The Vanishing Rainforest'. Children will be writing a persuasive letter and focussing on direct speech.

Science – Our focus is Material Properties, including Rocks, Soils and Fossils.

RE – In Christianity, we will be learning about the Church, exploring the question: What do Christians mean by the “Holy Spirit”? We will also learn about the Holy Spirit and Pentecost.

PE – We will be developing our skills in Hockey and Dodgeball.

DT – Our unit is Structures. We will be designing and building a rainforest structure.

PSHE – We’ll focus on Rights and Respect.

Music – The children will be learning to play the Ukulele.

French – Our topic is The Three Little Pigs.

Our PE day is Thursday

Please arrive at school in your PE kit:

• Plain, dark tracksuit bottoms/Plain, dark shorts
• Plain white T-shirt
• Blue school jumper/cardigan/hoodie (no other hoodies)
• Trainers
• No earrings

This half-term, we will be focusing on Dodgeball and Hockey.
