Spring Term 2

Hello and welcome to the Class 6 page. Most of the information you require about Class 6 can be found here. There will also be regular updates on Class Dojo. If you have any questions or would like to know more, please just ask!

This half-term, our topic is Rainforests. Here is an overview of what we’ll be exploring across all our subjects:

English – We’ll be reading The Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry. Children will focus on writing a rainforest fable and a persuasive letter.

Maths – We will be learning about Capacity, 2D Shape, Subtraction and Statistics, Fractions, Position and Direction, and Time.

Science – Our focus is Material Properties, including Rocks, Soils and Fossils.

RE – In Christianity, we will be learning about the Church, exploring the question: What do Christians mean by the “Holy Spirit”? We will also learn about the Holy Spirit and Pentecost.

PE – We will be developing our skills in Hockey and Dodgeball.

DT – Our unit is Structures. We will be designing and building a rainforest structure.

PSHE – We’ll focus on Rights and Respect.

Music – The children will be learning to play the Ukulele.

French – Our topic is The Three Little Pigs.

We’re looking forward to a half-term full of exciting, hands-on learning!

Please arrive at school in your PE kit:

• Plain, dark tracksuit bottoms/ plain, dark shorts
• Plain white t-shirt
• Blue school jumper, cardigan or hoodie.
