Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back! We’re looking forward to a fun-filled and engaging half term, with lots of exciting learning opportunities planned across the curriculum.
Here’s a look at what your child will be exploring this half term:
π English
We'll be exploring the story of Handa's Surprise. The children will enjoy retelling the story, acting it out, and will write their own, innovated version! The children will continue to have daily phonics lessons and daily whole class reading sessions.
β Maths
This half term, we will cover many different mathematical concepts. We will begin by learning about place value, followed by measurement (mass), 2D and 3D shape, counting and money, multiplication, and division.
π± Science
We’ll be continuing our learning about Animals, this half term focusing on Animal Survival and Growth.
πΊοΈ Geography
We'll explore the African village of Mugurameno in Zambia. We will use maps to locate it, explore its features, and look at the similarities and differences between life in Mugurameno Village and life in Crawshawbooth.
πβοΈ PE (Physical Education)
This half term, we'll be focusing on dance and sending and receiving skills.
ποΈ RE (Religious Education)
Our topic is Judaism, thinking about why some people might put their trust in God.
π§ PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education)
Our theme this half term is Keeping Safe, encouraging the children to think about their own safety and the safety of others, and who they can talk to if they have any worries.
πΆ Music
In Music, we’ll be using the genre of Reggae to practise using our voices and performing.
π» Computing
We'll be learning about Digital Writing and Making Music.
We can't wait to explore these topics together and see the children's enthusiasm for learning shine through. Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
If you have any questions about our curriculum this half term, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Our PE day is Tuesday.
