Summer Term 2

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back! We hope you all had a lovely break. We’re looking forward to a fun-filled and engaging half term, with lots of exciting learning opportunities planned across the curriculum.

Here’s a look at what your child will be exploring this half term:

πŸ“š English
We’ll be focusing on writing instructions and diving into fiction through the wonderful stories of Percy the Park Keeper. The children will develop their skills in both informative and imaginative writing.

βž• Maths
This term, we’re building on our knowledge of addition and subtraction, exploring fractions, and learning about position and direction, among other key areas.

🌱 Science
We’re continuing our topic on Plants, with a focus on conducting a fair test to investigate the conditions plants need to grow and thrive.

πŸ—ΊοΈ Geography
In Geography, we’re learning about the countries of the UK, their capital cities, and identifying both physical and human features of each area.

πŸ› οΈ DT (Design and Technology)
Our DT project this term is all about mechanisms! The children will be designing and making their own moving monsters using levers and linkages.

πŸƒ‍♂️ PE
In PE, our focus is on athletics, where the children will be developing their running, jumping and throwing skills.

πŸ•‰οΈ RE (Religious Education)
We will be exploring Hinduism, learning about its beliefs, practices, and celebrations.

🧠 PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education)
Our theme this half term is Growing and Changing, helping children understand the changes we go through as we grow, and how to look after ourselves.

🎢 Music
In Music, we’ll be exploring the genre of rock music, listening to classic songs and trying our hand at performing.

πŸ’» Computing
This half term in Computing, the children will be learning about programming animations, using code to bring their ideas to life on screen.

It’s shaping up to be a fantastic half term, and we can’t wait to see all the brilliant learning and creativity from the children. Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
