Summer Term 1

Dear Parents,

We’re thrilled to welcome in the Summer 1 term with a fantastic lineup of exciting and enriching learning experiences for the children. Here's a look at what we’ll be exploring across the curriculum this half-term:

📖 English
Our budding poets will be connecting with the natural world as we create our own Nature Poetry, drawing inspiration from the beauty around us. Later in the term, we’ll be diving into a fun and imaginative twisted tale based on Jack and the Baked Beanstalk—a hilarious creative twist on a classic story!

🧮 Maths
In Maths, we’ll be strengthening our skills in Number and Place Value, Addition and Subtraction, Position and Direction, and Time

🔬 Science
We’ll continue our learning about plants, but with a more practical experiments—planting our own seeds and discovering what plants need to grow and thrive. A perfect way to bring science to life!

🏛️ History
Our History unit is all about childhood in the past. We’ll be exploring what life was like for our parents and grandparents, looking closely at toys, school life, and technology through the decades.

🎨 Art
In Art, we’ll be getting creative with clay, designing and sculpting beautiful flower tiles inspired by our Science unit.

🏃‍♀️ PE
This half-term in PE, we’re focusing on Athletics and Tri Golf, developing our coordination, strength, and teamwork skills.

🕌 RE
In RE, we’ll be learning all about Islam, focusing on why Muslims believe it is important to obey God and how this influences their daily lives.

🧠 PSHE
Our PSHE theme is 'Being My Best', where we’ll explore making healthy choices, setting goals, and understanding our strengths and talents.

🎶 Music
We’ll be exploring our musical creativity through composition and improvisation, learning to express ourselves through sound.

💻 Computing
In Computing, we’ll become digital creators as we learn how to program and create algorithms, developing our logic and problem-solving skills.

It’s shaping up to be a vibrant and inspiring half-term, and we can’t wait to see the children thrive and grow in all areas. As always, thank you for your continued support.
