🌟 Welcome to Our EYFS Transition Journey

Starting school is a big step—and at Crawshawbooth Primary School, we make sure it’s an exciting and positive experience for every child and family. Our goal is to help your child feel happy, confident, and ready for their new adventure.

    How We Make Transition Smooth

We offer a range of activities before September to help children settle in:

👋 Stay & Play Sessions (June & July)
Fun visits to explore the classroom, meet teachers, and start building confidence. Some sessions include parents, others help children practice independence.

🌳 Join the Fun in Our Outdoor Adventure! 🌳

Parents and children are invited to an unforgettable session with our amazing Forest School leader!
    ✔ Play exciting games
    ✔ Explore nature together
    ✔ Meet new classmates
✔ Enjoy drinks and tasty snacks in our beautiful outdoor area

    But that’s not all!
Our PTFA will also host a Meet & Greet Afternoon while the children enjoy an independent visit. It’s the perfect chance to:
    ✨ Connect with other parents
    ✨ Make new friends
✨ Feel part of our wonderful school community

    🏫 Nursery Visits
Our EYFS teachers visit local nurseries to meet children joining us, starting relationships early.

🏠 Home Visits – A Warm Welcome for Your Child!

We offer optional, relaxed home visits to help your child feel comfortable and excited about starting school.

Meet your child in their own environment
    Learn how our EYFS works
Ask any questions you may have

This special visit means your child will see a friendly, familiar face on their first day—making the transition to school smooth and reassuring.

    💡 Top Tip for Parents

Children pick up on your feelings! Use positive language and show excitement about school—it really helps ease any worries. If you’re feeling anxious, don’t worry—we’re here to support you every step of the way.

    📅 Starting in September

We do not have a staggered start. All EYFS children begin full-time from day one. This helps them settle quickly, build independence, and supports working families.
