    By year two, reading fluency and comprehension will show measurable improvement, supported by embedded routines and enriched text discussions. The reading culture will be more vibrant, with increased pupil engagement in extracurricular reading activities. Targeted interventions will be demonstrating positive impact on pupils who need additional support. Staff will be responsive to assessment data, adapting teaching to close gaps and deepen understanding.

    In the final year, the school will have a mature, embedded reading programme that supports all pupils to read fluently and with deep comprehension.
