    • Crawshawbooth Bake Off & Bake Sale

      Published 31/03/25

Get your aprons on and your ovens ready! We're excited to announce our Great Crawshawbooth Easter Bake-Off competition on Monday 31st March 2025.

This year rather than egg decorating we plan to hold the Great Crawshawbooth Easter Bake Off 2025.

All children are encouraged to do some home baking (with the help of their parents) ‘The Great Crawshawbooth Bake Off’ is an exciting competition where children will compete for a class prize and the accolade of being Great Crawshawbooth Bake Off champion.

This year there will be no overall winner, as every class will have a baking champion!

We will display photos of all the children's Baking on our Crawshawbooth Primary School FACEBOOK page.

Entries can be any cakes, biscuits, buns etc. Basically, it’s a great opportunity to share some cooking at home and have some fun with your children.

As always, this Bake-Off event is optional and NOT compulsory because we are aware many of you are already so busy.

The children can also draw and write about their entry – Children can accompany their bakes with a note detailing the name of their cake and why they have chosen this as their signature bake, again completely optional.

FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY REASONS PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE CHILDREN TO DO ANY COOKING UNSUPERVISED PARTICULARLY THE YOUNGER CHILDREN WHO WILL NEED LOTS OF HELP AND SUPPORT.

At the end of the day all the bakes will be displayed in the school hall and parents/carers are invited to the ‘Bake Off Cake sale.’ All funds raised from the bake sale will go to providing extra resources for the children and could help subsidise future school trips.

On Monday 31st March children to bring in their baking creations and take straight to their classrooms.

We hope you enjoy your baking and thanks again for your support.

      Gas works outside of school

We have been advised by Cadent, that the current works being undertaken along Burnley Road, will be outside the school for 2 weeks, starting on Monday 24th March. There will be 5-way traffic control to co-ordinate the flow of traffic, along with the movement of the pedestrian crossing to slightly further up the road. Mrs Dobson will still be out as the crossing patrol, and will have access to a temporary traffic-controlled crossing, to allow the children to arrive at, and leave, the site safely.

The work is part of a national program to update and upgrade old metallic gas pipes and is necessary to ensure the security and safety of the gas supply in the area. The school supply of gas will not be affected.

We know that this will cause significant disruption to the school access, and create traffic delays on Burnley Road, so please plan your route accordingly, and allow extra time for your journey.

This will take us up to the Easter holidays, so we look forward to better access when we return to school later in April.

Your patience and cooperation during the period of work would be greatly appreciated.
