Sports Day
KS1 & KS2 Sports Day - Tuesday, 20th May 2025
EYFS Animal Olympics Sports Day - Tuesday, 3rd June 2025
We are excited to announce the upcoming Sports Days for KS1, KS2, and EYFS.
KS2 Sports Day (Classes 6-11) will take place on Tuesday, 20th May, starting at 9:30 am.
KS1 Sports Day (Classes 3-5) will follow on the same day, starting at 1:15 pm.
In case of inclement weather, the reserve date is Thursday, 22nd May at 9:30 am.
The children have been divided into four colour teams: red, blue, green, and white. We kindly ask that they wear a T-shirt from home representing their team colour. The school will inform you of your child’s team colour. Football shirts are permitted. Children should wear their normal P.E. shorts and trainers for better grip on the field. A hat and sun cream are recommended if it is a sunny day.
For the safeguarding of all pupils, we ask that parents remain on the grass banking throughout the events. Please wait for us to escort the children in safely at the end before leaving. We appreciate your support in this matter.
EYFS (Classes 1 & 2) Animal Olympics Sports Day will be held on Tuesday, 3rd June from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. Children should wear their normal PE kit on this day; there is no need to wear a colour T-shirt.
Gas works outside of school
We have been advised by Cadent, that the current works being undertaken along Burnley Road, will be outside the school for 2 weeks, starting on Monday 24th March. There will be 5-way traffic control to co-ordinate the flow of traffic, along with the movement of the pedestrian crossing to slightly further up the road. Mrs Dobson will still be out as the crossing patrol, and will have access to a temporary traffic-controlled crossing, to allow the children to arrive at, and leave, the site safely.
The work is part of a national program to update and upgrade old metallic gas pipes and is necessary to ensure the security and safety of the gas supply in the area. The school supply of gas will not be affected.
We know that this will cause significant disruption to the school access, and create traffic delays on Burnley Road, so please plan your route accordingly, and allow extra time for your journey.
This will take us up to the Easter holidays, so we look forward to better access when we return to school later in April.
Your patience and cooperation during the period of work would be greatly appreciated.
